Three protection layers.

Each layer protects against a different threat. Here is what each one does and does not cover.

LAYER 1
SSE-S3
Server-managed keys, on by default. Every object is encrypted at rest with zero configuration.

You send your AES-256 key with each request. We encrypt, decrypt, and discard the key immediately, so it is never stored.

Encrypt before uploading with rclone crypt. We receive only ciphertext and literally cannot read your data.
